Default Ficus Rubber Tree is out of CONTROL

I've had this build for what... four weeks? Five? The rubber tree (if I'd known it was a tree I coulda predicted this) is going nuts. It's sending roots out EVERYWHERE as I can see in the glass. I'm going to have to take it out before it chokes out the other plants. Lesson learned!!

(I tried taking a pic but it's too reflective right now)

i didn't know you had a rubber plant in there!! holy jeez!!LOL get yourself a nice 12" diameter planted and grow it indoors. it will grow a lot slower and make a wonderful houseplant i remember you saying you had a ficus in there, but i thought you meant a ficus pumila (creeping fig), not a freaking tree!!LOL sorry, i shouldn't laugh, i have a few plants that are going to out grow my 125. my tree fern in particular. i know it's going to out grow the tank in a year or so, but i am planning on replacing it with a new, smaller one when the time comes.

    Dee,
Well congratulations ! Your tank is nice and healthy !

    I'm getting that brain-steam thing .

It would be very interesting to see what would happen as it grew, though ?
Maybe you have - invented and created a very natural substrate !

Good science experiment! How about planting it into a little 10 gallon and see what happens - 6 months down the road ?

Can you post a photo and the name of the plant/species? Please I'll do it !

    Just picture a lumpy /bumpy ( plant's root) as substrate !!!

I've had a burgundy Ficus elastica in one of my vivariums for at least a couple of years now. It's maybe grown a couple of inches. With low enough light and sub tropical temperatures and no effort to feed them, they will grow extremely slow. In brighter and warmer conditions indoors, they can get several feet.
