New member, Ceratophrys (pacman) frog feeding questions

Hello all, I am a long time frog enthusiast but only have had ADFs for 4 yrs. Interested if anyone has experience to feed horned frogs with other then live or killed food.

I am not excited about having to keep live insects or mice etc to feed a Pacman. But all the books say its a must!

Any experience or advise or links are appreciated.

You can feed them nightcrawlers using feeding tongs they are much easier than bugs like crickets and roaches and are very nutritious. There is also a powdered food you you mix with water and roll into a ball and use tongs to offer it to them, it states that you can feed it as your pac's sole food source but this is questionable and deff not recommended. I feed mine mostly nightcrawlers with dubia roaches and prekilled young mice as treats.

Welcome to Frog Forum.

I'm afraid that you may just have to deal with creepy crawlies if you plan on keeping this species. You can use the Samurai Pacman Food and they suggest using it exclusively, but I don't believe it has everything they need. As a matter of fact it has a few things they don't need.

I would just follow what you've read or search this forum for more feeding info. There is plenty here and if you do get yourself a Ceratophrys I'll be seeing you in the Pacman Forum Area.
