    Default African black clawed frog

My frog which I believe is female is acting very peculiar. She is about eighteen months old maybe a little older and she is spending a lot of time on the bottom of the tank. She seems very panicky and she is being very verbal which is unlike her at all. She did have a male with her but he died a few months back. What do I do?

What are your water parameters at? I have never heard of a female being vocal unless responding to a male. Do you have a pic?

She is at the moment temporarily in a small tank due to her tank getting a mysterious leak and I am waiting for the new tank to arrive. I have attached a picture of her

Hard to say, can't see the hands or cloaca. Usually albino males are easy to identify due to the lack of pigment yet very dark male hands they develop (as you know of course lol).

I still want to show you a pic of my male frog, he is albino, has dark hands but his cloaca looks female to me and he's already 4 inches at 9 months old and is quite large for a male. I've never heard him sing.. I wonder if he is some kind of freak lol..

I believe females can get slightly colored hands, I know mine does and it's deff a female cause she lays eggs all over the tank all the time. With the males the coloration goes up the whole length of the inner side of the arm

Wow seriously? I didn't know that. My albinos hands do darken but not every day and its only on the hands, not down the arms. That might explain why my albino is getting HUGE (almost as large as my wild-type frog which I -know- is a lady) and doesn't act very male at all.

This kind of makes me happy to know because I have a third frog which is not very big but he does not have 'man-hands- either and is about 3/4th the size of my other frogs. Maybe I have a trio of ladies.. lol

Here's a pic of what the male "pads" look like. I don't have a male frog so this is just one I found on Google, i belive it is from an old post on this forum.

Yeah I've seen pictures of males, my albino frog just gets dark hands and then it goes away, some days no darkness at all. Weird, maybe he is a she. The frog is already 4 inches and only ~10 months old so you may be right.

My frog now named Patch is definitely a girl as she has laid eggs everywhere.
How long will she lay eggs for and is it normal for her not to eat whilst she is laying eggs. She has not eaten for four days and has been laying eggs since Tuesday
