    Default Caught the orchid bug

Just got two new orchids today and I was very happy that they made it alive. They are Lepanthes Calodictyon and Lepanthes Telipogoniflora.
Here is a picture of how they arrived.

    The supplier was ecuagenera.
The telipogoniflora is native to Columbia and the calodictyon is native to western Columbia.
I have to say remounting them was a pain, took me about 1.5 hours.

Very cool. I bet most of the time was spent removing them from their mounts? Lol they really grow themselves on there.
Are they a seasonal bloomer? I'm not very familiar with that family of orchidae

I have another lepanthes calodictyon that always has one leaf with a flower so I would say that they bloom all year long. Yup I spent all my time trying to get the roots of the mounts with out damaging them.
The telipogoniflora actually arrived in flower, but was wilted bc it was bone dry when I got it.

Very cool that they are a year round bloomer. I hate buying mounted orchids for that reason, but sometimes it's the only way to get some species. It may have wilted because it was bone chilling cold when you got them. I know it has been here, and since you're north of me, i can safely assume you had the same weather?

Come to think of it the weather was really cold, I am surprised they made it in such good condition. They were not even wilted except the one flower.
