I have a red eyed tree frog and I've noticed that as this plant in his cage grows, it gets harder and harder for me to monitor how much he's eating and find leftovers. So I came upon the bowl method and I want to try it out. So I know you use glass but what exactly would one look like? Can someone post a pic or link to one? And have you had any experience with this method, did it work for you? Thanks.
I don't have experience with this method, but others do. Just use a cereal bowl made of glass. Count out how many you wish to offer to the frog and place them in the bowl. They cannot grip the glass and will be easy pickings for the frog.
Next morning count how many crickets are missing. You can remove the uneaten crickets.
Some people also use small glass condiment dishes about 3" wide or so. Never used em myself either but have read lots of posts about people using them

Haha! I use the glass heart shaped candy dishes from dollar tree...does that mean great minds think alike?
Seriously though, any clear glass bowl that is over an inch tall is fine. It can sit on top of or be partly sunk into the substrate. Wipe it out with warm water and a paper towel every few days to remove the calcium buildup from the crickets or they'll be able to climb out. Works great though.
