Does your FBT crawl in your hand?

Honestly I thought they didn't like to be handled from what I read up on. But every time I am doing something in the tank Monster ALWAYS crawls in or on my hand. At first I thought he was trying to use me as a bridge to get out but he never goes pass my palm. He crawls into my hand and just sits there until i push him off. Sometimes when I try to push him off he'll even grip like "no I'm not ready to let you go yet!"

And this morning I caught not just Monster but BOTH Mercy and Monster staring out at me from their tank! I mean I could expect this from a dog or a cat but I never expected Toads to love me! These two are my first ones haha.

They learn we are their feeders. Some species are more inquisitive than others. So far, I have found that both firebelly toads and dart frogs seem to be the most inquisitive out of the frog and toad species I have had. Amphibians can learn to tolerate us in varying degrees. My darts sometimes do that too...leap on my hand and then try to climb up my arm when putting their fruit flies in.

Be sure your hands are good and clean and free of lotions or chemicals in case they do cling on .

How warm is your tank? I'd love to tell you that they're very affectionate and enjoy your companionship, but I'll rule out the solid things first. If the temperature is too low in the tank, despite the frogs not being too picky on temp control, they may be searching for something to heat them up. Room temperature usually serves them just fine but since it's winter and drafts across glass will spread to the whole tank, it's definitely a possibility.

Or, of course, they may just really, really like you. Hey, it's not impossible :P
