Hi i got my tree frogs last saturday and i ordered food at the same time they came with small crickets and small locust i have feed them both but they dont seem to like the crickets. the frogs are 2" long i think the crickets might be too small. i did see some med brown crickets and thought they looked a good size. what size/kind of food would you be feeding if they were your frogs i am going to get food tomorrow. i can get hold of waxworns, mealworms, locust, crickets and and black crickets. thanks in advance.
Try the bigger size brown crickets. Your White's can handle them. The crickets need to be the staple of the diet, but get mealworms to feed them a couple times a week. You don't want to feed as many mealworms, because they are harder to digest. You can try waxworms too, but not too often. I have two White's, and one eats waxworms and the other is disgusted by them. I have heard other people say that likewise their White's refuse waxworms.
thanks i will get the bigger crickets and some mealworms. what about locusts?
I don't know about locusts. They're not sold in the US. But I'm sure someone will know!
thanks for your help
Andrew, where do you live? There's no country on your profile. Locusts are only sold in some countries due to the potential they have to become a pest species.

i live in south west england i can get them in pets@home and my lfs
I prefer locusts to crickets, and black crickets to house/brown. For what it's worth.

I use small locusts (hoppers) all the time for my FBTs and they love them (so do I actually but not to eat) I keep them going in a large plastic box with tights stretched over the top for ventilation and feed them on carrot, fruit, bug -grub, anything saladee.
They're fascinating to watch and I can pick them up without screaming. I wouldn't go near crickets yuk.
