Default Question about playing with a white's tree frog

So im new to everything and I had some problems with Winston not being happy but thats taken care of now, but are you supposed to play with your tree frog? Once my frog gets adjusted to everything I would like to be able to play with him. Any suggestions?

Get a dog. You can not play with frogs. You can hold then and show them off for a SHORT period of time.

yes my frog is a white lipped tree frog. Is there a difference between the ways you can play with him?

Regardless of species you really should not "play" with them at all. Treat all tree frogs as display animals i.e. "look but don't touch." Frog skin is very sensitive to temperature, humidity and textural changes. That sensitivity also leaves them open to all kinds of infectious agents, a lot of which can come from your hands. Many of them also get stressed easily. If you have to hold them, wear powder-free latex gloves. White's tree frogs also generally tolerate contact better than white lipped. I believe the latter secretes a mild toxin when aggravated. Please resist the understandable urge to play with them - it's better for the animal.

Default Question about playing with a white's tree frog

Killerecho is correct. Humans actually carry staph and step amongst other bacteria on our skin, plus oils that can harm them. Frogs should only be rarely handled for care of their homes or if required for medical treatment. Think of them as like a pretty fish tank. Nice to watch but not to touch .

There are times in life when the right thing to do, is to not do what you want to do. This is one of those times

Leave a bowl of dechlorinated or mineral water in his cage. Water level not higher than the sitting frog. Change the water every day.

Spraying only works temporarily. You need to maintain a humidity level of 60-75% and provide a water bowl.
