Default Poll: White's Tree Frog & UV Lighting

My local herp friends are split down the middle on the issue of UV lighting with tree frogs. Everyone seems to have a different setup. So, I'm curious about what all of the White's tree frog owners on here are using. How do you UV?

I forgot to add in there whether you use a coiled bulb (CFL) or long florescent bulb.

i do use a 5.0 uvb bulb all day every day. and yes i am using a cfl though it has been known to cause blindness in reptiles (mainly torts) i haven't had a problem with them. I am also working on an out door enclosure for my whites so they can get natural sun.

Same I use 5.0 CFL's. It's the primary source of heating and its good for my plants also. I always thought it was good for white's in them metabolising calcium? Anyone know if this is true?

Just my opinion, I use 6% arcadian bulb from lightyourreptiles.com 12 inches above the cage and they seem to do great. I also have the blue aussie whites tho. So I do not know if their requirments are different.

I use a bit of a variety- I have older t12 fixtures in my basement ceiling

    centered about 12" above ..... 2- 36" H exo terras ( very heavily planted) ( housing A moreletii / A callidryas )
    is a double 48 inch T12 fixture w/ 2-Philips daylight deluxe 2325 lumens

    near-by ( same type of fixture )
16,000 lumens Philips 2 " plant and Aquarium bulbs"

hanging above the A. moreletii ( only ) is one standard base 2.0 uvb

facing the front glass of all 5 enclosures ( 3 dart and 2 tree frog) are philips standard base 'plant bulbs' that have the double duty of providing day time heat as well
