hi all, so recently i re-introduced my two firebellys, whom i assumed were male and female based upon we had some "grasping" the day after we brought them home so they were seperated. didnt need 80 toads in a matter of a few weeks. lol. anyways so they are back together, previously they did not have heaters in their tank which they do now (about a week now). could this have tricked them into thinking its now mating season?
is it possible hes just practicing for future breeding season? i just walked in on quite an interesting display. he was holding on for dear life! lol no i wasnt trying to break them up, but i dont think they quite have the hang of it yet.
anyways, it is standard for males hind legs to almost shed when its getting close to mating season? 3 or 4 days ago, his hind legs got really waxy in color, and then i just noticed the "film" is coming off and actually still hanging, i think from his legs being stretched so openly.
sorry for all the questions, but i want to know if i need to keep an eye out for eggs and if its ok for me to leave them in the tank with the adults as i have a filter in there, and dont want them all getting sucked up.
i would love any information if possible
thanks in advance!
