My new little Cranwelli went right for the little earthworm chunks from the tongs almost immediately his first night home! He ate 3 little chunks and prolly would have eaten more if offered but I was a little nervous to accidently over feed him. Should I be using the 10 min rule for feeding him or is that just with crickets? He's about 1.5 inches from snout to vent.
Nice Cranwelli.
Feed him 3 to 4 one inch pieces per night. Should be fine.
K thanks Grif. I thought just letting him go to town for 10 mins would be a bit much seeing as how it wasn't taking more than a few seconds of "teasing" him before he gobbled em up
Always offer him at least one or two more pieces as well. If he is still hungry he will eat more. Night Crawlers are easily digested and pose little to no risk of impaction from filling your frog up. As he grows you can offer whole worms. Start with smaller sizes and feed larger worms accordingly.
If you'd like offer him 1 three to four inch piece. This way he will get used to larger whole worms when he is able to eat them. With my frogs I just give them how ever many they want and if I feel I need to cut back I will. Most are really good at regulating their food intake so you should be fine.
