My Pacman Frog has been doing good and just last night/early morning he/she pooped and there was an undigested waxie in the poo. The temp in the cage is 82 degrees, humidity is between 70/80% (mist every day). I use coco fibers for the substrate, some flower decoration is in the cage (10 gallon). Is an undigested Wax Worm a bad thing? I haven't fed my frog today I will tomorrow (that way everything in his or her system has cleared out)
Was it just the skin? Or was the worm still um... juicy? They will often digest the insides of the waxworm but pass the outer skin. This is the reason why they shouldn't be feed in large quantities. The undigested skins can build up in their intestines and cause an impaction. As long as waxworms aren't your staple and all of the conditions are right, your frog should be fine.
That's so weird.. you'd think that wax worms would be really easy for them to digest. Good to know.
kinda like finding cricket legs in the poo....nothing to worry about
