Every once in a while my pixie will make a sort of sqeaking noise. I'm not sure if you would call it a croak but I wanted to know if this would indicate a male. I'm not sure if females also do this and if so how do the sounds differ between males and females?
That squeaking sound is just a "I'm uncomfortable" grunt. They'll make it when you disturb them while they're sleeping, if they're uncomfortable in the position they're in and are too lazy to move, ect...
Males and females will both make this sound. A call is a deep, long sound, almost like a cow mooing.
If its a combination of several squeaks in a row it could just be the frog burrowing down to the bottom of the tank and the noise is the frog trying to burrow further and rubbing its legs on the glass producing a squeaking noise. My Pacmans do this and it makes a squeaking noise that could be mistaken for a vocalization.
Well I've noticed that he/she does it when they are burrowing or I guess u would call it trying to get comfortable. But I don't disturb them and they still squeak. Just wanted to know why they did it that's all
Also they squeak while completely submerged and nowhere near glass. It just sounds funny to me. Almost sounds like a pinky squeaking
My edulis squeals like a stuck pig every time i pick him up

My little one almost sounds like a tiny dog barking and growling at me when he's acting cranky.
