Default Ceratophrys Joazeirensis From Mike's Phat Frogs!!

Here are my Joaz that I recently purchased from Mike. They're very beautiful and I definitely got what I was looking for. Thanks Mike!!!

First is the Green Joaz. I believe that its a she because of how much she eats and her growth rate along with some subtle structural features. Second is one I specifically asked for. The Brown Joaz!!! I love the dark colors with the extremely bright stripes.

    Enjoy!!!

Wow, I love that second one. How much did it cost? I'd definitely be interested in getting one of those in the future..

They are $45.00 right now. I only have two left for sale. I will have more around this time next year.

Great looking frogs, Grif! Very jealous I agree, the coloring on the brown is fantastic. The green is a stunner, too.

Curious, how are these guys eating? Any different from cranwellies, or about the same?

The green is a ready eater just like most Cranwellies, but my Brown is a little skittish and won't tong feed for me. Hopefully he will come around soon. All depend on the frogs personality.

Gotcha, thanks! I was wondering because it seems like many C. cornutas and Fantasy frogs tend to be a bit more difficult to readily feed. I'm sure that's not the case for all, but seems tobe a common trend. Just wondered if Caatingas were similar, or aggressive like cranwelli.

Keep us updated on how they are growing and such!

Well Fantasies are a hybrid so many traits from a Cornuta can pass to them including finicky eating, but not all Fantasies are this way and not all Cornuta are finicky or skittish. Also Joaz are not the same species so you can't assume they will act alike. They are a true blood species not a hybrid unlike Fantasies. Most issues you read about Cornuta are because of the animal in question being Wild Caught(WC) rather than Captive Bred(CB), BUT not all WC will act the same either so you have to also realize that the experience will be different from frog to frog as in my situation with this species here. Same species, but different feeding responses.

Keep this in mind and you'll learn a lot from your experiences
