Hello there, 1 week ago i got a 2 month old albino pacman frog. I would get him some worms in the yard. But ill only find like 3 at a time. Now my aunt got me a green pacman frog thats 2 months old. Is it ok to get worms from a bait store??? If not where do i get mine from thats like the only option to crickets. Please help.
You shouldn`t be feeding worms "from the ground" due to the fertilizers and pesticides..... You can find nightcrawlers all over in different stores.
ok. Thats good to know considering hes only had them twice. But a bait store nightcrawlers is ok?
It's kinda gross, but before feeding Walmart nightcrawlers to your pets, you'll have to grasp between two fingers the lower 1/3 of their body and squeeze their dirt-poop out. The dirt they're stored in inside the containers they eat as well, and I don't think it's healthy for frogs to ingest that.
You don't have to do that. The castings (poo) inside the worms actually have some good vitamins/minerals in them. I've fed Wal-mart nightcrawlers, DMF brand, to my reptiles for years and have never had problems. Just wash the dirt off the outside of the worm and you should be good.
You don't have to squeeze the soil from the worms body this is part of the reason why earthworms and night crawlers are so nutritious for frogs. They are loaded with vitamins and nutrients.
i have been feeding my 2 pacs and tomato worms from a local bait shop for 3 months now and everything is fine, i found as soon as i got my older pac on worms he grew super fast! my baby albino just started eating them so im pumped to watch him or hers grow fast
Thanks guys im going to hit up my local walmart or bait shop tomorrow.
