We have just moved north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada for the summer; about 30 minutes or approx 15 miles north. We have a lovely little man made pond, home to a counted 18 frogs. I noticed today however that in two of our window wells we have a family of at least six frogs in one and three in the other. We have had an extremely hot and humid summer this year; Over 100 degrees Fahrenheit with the humidex for many days.
My question is: should I rescue the frogs that are in the window wells? and how would I rescue them without hurting/ disrupting or distressing them?
Thank you for your feedback in advance!
I'd just make sure they can get out on their own, like a little ramp made from a 2x4 along one side.
If you manually take them out they'll probably head back there unless you block it off.
What kinds of frogs are they? If they are tree frogs, they can get out themselves.
