    Default Local bait shop

I just got the idea of visiting my local bait shop to really throw some variety into my frogs diets. They sell normal night crawlers up to vacuum packed squid! What are some things that are definitely safe for pacman frogs and pixie frogs?

Grifthegreat said that getting worms from Bait shops/gas stations should be avoided, seeing as some companies add dyes/chemicals to their worms to make them more attractive to fish. Which would be harmful to a frog in one way or another, I'm sure. I don't know about other stuff bait shops carry. Grif suggested getting nightcrawlers from a place like petsmart.

he's right but keep in mind that any you buy from armstrong or petsmart are BAIT SHOP worms....just make sure they do not have any dyes added (most come from the same company lol) so when picking you have to read EVERYTHING

Very true! When I purchased night crawlers and red wigglers from my local Petco the containers had Wilcox Bait & Tackle on them, which is a local bait place. I even checked out the local Wal-Mart and PetSmart and found the same thing.

I found out that just about all the worms and crickets in this area come through Wilcox because they are a very large distributor/supplier of these "bait" items on the east coast. I went to their store and asked them about the night crawlers and crickets and they told me no dyes or addictives are used with these items.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask your local pet store where they get their feeders.
