Question Questions about Co2 bombing a vivarium?

I spotted a mite in my vivarium, and knew there had to be more. My vivarium is well planted, and I would hate to deconstruct it or have to take out the substrate_ so I thought about Co2 bombing it. I heard that it kills all those little unwanted pests, and even gives plants a healthy boost, so, there can't be a downside to this...right!?

    My questions:

    1. How do you seal off the tank completely so the Co2 is only going inside the tank itself. My 18" x 18" x 24" needs to be bombed, and it has a screen top.

    2. Is it safe to use around other animals in the same room or neighboring the tank being bombed?

    3. Any downsides to the Co2 bomb?

    4. What method of chemicals used works the best/ you reccomend I use.

    Thanks in advance ;D

    Hi,
    Yikes!
I don't keep this kind of a enclose bottom.
But I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to simply put a gaziilion-billion spring tails into your enclosure?

every animal in your tank will most likely dia. Springs, isos, frogs, etc. but springs are easy to replace if you have a culture going.

** always keep a big culture of springs on hand. I started with a culture from Josh's frogs that i moved to a 6qt container that has grown to 1000's and 1000's. I just add a few hundred once a week
