I have 6 of these little beauties and love them -- had them shipped to me from an online source.
I went into Petsmart tonight and was very surprised to find they had 2 bumble bee walking toads for sale, and bought both of them. I know I want to quarantine them before I add them to my others (who are basically in a 20 long terrarium).
They are currently in a little plastic cup with a damp paper towel. The cup has with small air holes. They are temporarily in the "travel" cup within a 10-gallon "sharing" some air space with my baby tomato frogs (also from Petsmart) -- the tomato frogs are in a critter keeper.
I'm thinking of setting up a 5 1/2 gallon aquarium for them, with coco-earth as the substrate, a small water dish, and something for them to hide in, and maybe a fake plant or two. Does this sound sufficient for a quarantine tank for them? How long should I quarantine them for? I know I will keep them in their temporary habitat for at least a couple of weeks until the guarantee ends, but how much longer do they need to be kept apart?
Any comments/advice would be appreciated.
