    Default UTH Placement

So, reading the care sheet it suggests placing the UTH on one of the sides of the terrarium instead of the bottom. I've attached a picture of my baby albino pacman's terrarium (14L x 8D x 7H - roughly 5 gallon tank). Where would be the best place to put it, along the back or on one of the sides? Also, is a Zoo Med Repti Therm Mini (made for 1-5 gallon tanks) a good size to use? Name: Phoenix-20120615-00116.jpg

On the back or the side is fine. Just make sure its on the end opposite the water dish. The mini is ok, but the Zoo Med UTH Item# RH-7 or the one for the Hermit Crab tanks works well.

Would the mini put off too much heat in this size enclosure? That's what I bought, but I'll go get a hermit crab UTH if that would be better.

Sorry to thread jack, but for a 1 gallon tank that is plastic(like a critter keeper), what would be the proper size UTH?

Zoo Med UTH for hermit crabs. There are 2 types. One is small and circular. The other is larger and rectangular. These will say on the paper lable over the adhesive on the UTH that they are glass only, but the actual instructions in packaging says that the Zoo Med UTH item# RH-7 and the Hermit Crab UTH are the only 2 safe for plastic.
