A long standing argument is that reptiles don't care about affection I think this is cool this is me and my beardie my gf snapped this while I wasn't paying attention lol what happened here was he is completely potty trained and has run of the house bout 2-3 hours a day for exercise well he came out of his cage and climbed up on my couch and laid down right where you see him straight from a 140f basking spot I me to snuggle this is a regular routine I highly doubt it was for my body heat since he was hotter than me lol he absolutely loves attention and wants it what's yalls stand on this subject?

I dont know if I believe reptiles are capable of affection, I do believe certain species like beardies, BTS, tegus etc can become familiar with the people they are around often and therefore become comfortable with them. We appear safe to them so they will display these types of behaviors - and yes we are nice and warm too! I have a BTS and she def recognizes me and my husband now, she is a great pet and smart too.

i think thats cute! i like to think that animals do understand affection, i mean cats do...so y not reptiles and other animals?? dogs get depressed when owners are away for long amounts of time.... lol but thats my opinion. cute beardie btw.

reptiles are very smart. few days ago was at scales and tales, and this monitor lizard was opening the door to the tank he was in. the workers would close it and he'd go right back and open it agian. was funny. but he knew he wanted out and how. lol ill follow ur research lol ik it was just an example. basically i think any animal is capable of showing affection. maybe not specifically to humans, i will say some animals should not be house pets....but their still able to show affection.

I definitely think they recognize who cares for them. Some of my frogs only come to the side of their homes for me. Never for my daughter or husband.
