Unhappy White stringy stuff on my Grey Tree Frog?

Just today i noticed a white stringy sheet like substance on my Grey Tree Frog. He was rubbing his hands and feet over his eyes who had the stuff too. It wasnt a lot but i took off some of the stuff. I cant diagnose it to try to fix it.....do any of you know what it is?
Also, he was oppening and closing his mouth over and over again trying to get stuff out and he had bunched up his stomach.....
I dont know what it is.................

He was shedding maybe? Shedding is normal. They act that way when they shed their old skin.

Yes, what Fae said is correct. The reason frogs eat there skin is to preserve the nutrition that is in the skin. So think of it as staying healthy when the frog is taking and eating the skin.

Yeah, grays do that. The first time I saw it, it freaked me out too. I thought he was puking. O.o They shed pretty regularly, and their skin is all shiny afterwards! (plus, the funny belching face they make while they do it is amusing.)
I have a frog. She's fat and green. Her name is Gertrude, because she is fat and green.

Definitely sounds like he was just shedding. It's interesting to watch. I've caught one of my Greys in the middle of shedding before.

Interesting. My WTF La Frog did that last night. He was cleaning it off of his face with his hand, opening and closing his mouth. Finally, after watching him for five minutes or so I "helped" him by taking it off of him. Now I know better - next time I will let him eat his nutrient-filled skin!

Thankful to have such a helpful forum for daily intake of frog care advice.
