    Default Waterfall too loud?

Just finished a 30 gallon vertical with a water feature for a yellow eyed tree frog. The water cascades down a piece of cork bark and drops into the pool about 6 inches below. It is pretty loud, even more so inside the tank, I would imagine. So far, the frog seems unaffected; business as usual. But I'd still like to ask more experienced keepers up here, whether they'd ever observed a similar tree frog getting stressed or freaked out by constantly loud, splashing water.

    Hi Brian,
I created a wonderful new enclosure for my A. moreletii.
My single moreletii was moved out of the red eyed enclosure ( where she lived with the small group since I purchased her/after her quarantine period---a longtime) into her new one and has not eated since!

If you care to follow what has transpired:
( it's long - you may want to start from the most recent posts ? )
    http://www.frogforum.net/vivarium-te...ree-frogs.html

NOISE:The covered filtered water area in my enclosures were a soft constant noise ( of which I removed ) as well as my mist king.
The mist king is loud when it goes off, and the tubing rattles!
As I try to narrow things down as to why she will not eat --I realize the MK
is one of VERY few thinks that are different since I moved her.
I have gone so far as to purchase foam covering for the tubing to see if I can quiet things down.
I have never had a A. annae. BUT, The moreletii is much more secretive the the red eyeds.

    Don' know - Sharing a thought !

I would say no, it's not going to affect your frog in any bad way at all. Not sure if it applies to every species, but a lot of frogs can't "hear" any other noise than the calling of their own species (or at least they will belive it's a call from their own species, even if they hear something else).

Thanks for the input, you guys.

Lynn - It is true, my yellow eyes are much shyer and more prone to stress than my red eyes. Genetically, annae very close to moreletii to the point that they can crossbreed. I love your setup. It looks like there's a miniature tree in there.

Martin - that's very interesting news indeed. I never knew that. If we can somehow confirm this for the agalychnis species, I can put my mind at ease.

In the meantime, though, I'm going to err on the side of caution. My water pump has an attachment that adjusts the flow rate, so I set to about half of what it used to be. There's still enough flow to power the waterfall (more like a drip wall now), but the noise has been cut down considerably.
