I would like another cope's gray tree frog or two but would like to raise them from a tadpole any one have any idea where in Illinois I could buy some
It's always exciting to hear of someone with interest in the Copes Gray Tree Frog - hyla chrysoscelis. It is my favorite. Unfortunately, tadpoles of any species are difficult to locate unless you find a breeder. You might try the Prairie Research Institute of the Illinois Natural History Survey for starts. A long shot but a beginning. I don't live anywhere near a pond or lake but unexpectedly found thousands of Copes Gray tadpoles in my rain barrel last spring, and I live in the city. Strategically placing rain water buckets near woods (doesn't have to be near any water) plus a lot of patience, just might reward you the tads for free. Good hunting.
Would you be able to find some more this year and would you think of selling some to me if possible
That's true, but could also create lots of extra breeding areas for mosquitoes unless you have a pump or something in there keeping the water moving. I would just make a point to go hiking in the woods frequently in the spring. You'll probably find some breeding pools in the woods, plus you'll have fun doing it!
