I have a wooden climbing set for my White's Dumpy Tree Frog, but its becoming moldy after a few days of misting. Is there any way to treat the wood without harming the frog? Or do I have to go buy a different kind?
what kind of wood is it, some woods will mold and after a week or so it will go away on it's own but this is varies on the wood, also when it doubt take it out. wash it under hot water, boil it if you want, or bake it in your oven to kill the mold or any spores, put some pics up
Sorry, but I don't know how to post pictures on here yet, (I think the wood is regular drift wood). But the good news is that the mold is starting to disappear. I washed it in hot water and flipped in over so the moldy sites were closer to the heat lamp. I've been scrapping the mold off and now barely any seems to have returned.
I had issues with mine too and a threw it out!! I would love to know the answer to this or a good type of wood to use
