I'm not sure what's going on with my little frog, but over the last couple days I've noticed that it's belly is very uneven. There's a big bump on the left side only. What could be going on here? I'm hoping it's not bloat...
Sorry about the quality of the picture. I only have a camera on my phone right now.
What does his diet consist of and what kind of substrate are you using?
I feed him HBH frog & tadpole bites (4 or 5 a day) and half of his tank is bare and the other half has large river stones (much too large for him to swallow). He is still eating and has all the same activity habits, so I'm hopeful it's nothing serious.
Bloating is generally an all over swelling - not a protrusion on one side.
Has your frog been floating or swimming at odd angles? Do you test and filter your water? If you know your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate please post them.
Also....has this been a slow growing lump or did it form out of no where?

He hasn't been swimming strangely. It doesn't seem to affect him. It just worries me! He's been a little uneven since I bought him a little over a month ago, but the more he grows the more uneven it gets.
I don't have readings on the water, but I can stop and pick up a kit to test it if that would be helpful.
As for his water - it is good to have an idea of the readings - ammonia and nitrite burn their skin and need to be kept at 0.00 at all times - ammonia is produced in their waste and left over food particles. (you reduce the values by doing water changes).
Filtration with a mature filter (google the Nitrogen cycle and cycling a filter) help keep the levels under control in between water changes for you.
I have a feeling this growth may be a tumor - for which it may be something he lives his whole life with. In that case the info regarding his system will come in handy keeping a happy, healthy little guy for a long time coming.
