Hi all,
I'm new to the world of frogs, I received my first one yesterday. I have a baby that I'm hoping you could confirm for me that it is indeed, Pyxicephalus adspersus.
Here's a few pics, I'll get better ones soon and as it grows, don't really want to stress it out too much at the moment. It's about 4-5cm.
Cheers!
Looks like one to me. Cute little frog is all over his tank, congratulations.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Cheers! I'm excited to see what it grows into.
I brought it as a P. adspersus from a place I think is reliable, just want to make sure.
Here's a few more pics I just took, not so caked in coco fibre.
Just a few more pics of my frog here. Seems to be doing well, about to rehouse into bigger enclosure.
Maybe some one could possibly identify it for me now it has grown on some. I'm pretty sure it is P. adspersus but the only thing making me doubt is that it doesn't seem to have the bars across the eyes that adspersus shows but maybe they develop this at a later stage, I'm not sure.
Cheers!
really nice pics!! and really nice frog!!! show us your terrarium!
def 100% Adspersus. looks female to me also. males will usually have a much broader snout

That is a massive growth in a span of just a month.
Thank you guys! That's what I wanted to hear, sex I'm not too worried about I just wanted to make sure what I bought was the real thing.
Bare in mind it's fully puffed up in those pics but it certainly does seem to be growing fast, I got nothing to compare with though as it's a first frog in my collection.
Certainly trying to eat me out of a home haha It eat's more in a night than all my 60 scorpions can in a week! That's saying something
I'll sort pics of the set-up when It's all finished and I rehouse it, I still can't fully decide how to do the water section, that's holding me up. I wanted to do like a 60% land 40% water section divide but now I'm thinking just a really big, deep container like I seen some of you use for the ease of cleaning out, we shall see.
