I want to put a light on the tank, but what bulb? and watt? (tank is 45cm tall) incandescent, fluorscent, uv etc?
thx
Ideal lighting sources for red eyed tree frogs are 25 watt full-spectrum red incandescent bulbs. Hope this helps!

There's some debate over whether red eyes need, or at least benefit from, UVB light. Aside from that, there's no strict evidence that suggests they need light at all, since they only become active in the dark. If you keep them in a planted vivarium, then it's the plants that determine what kind of light you need. In any case, fluorescent lighting in the 5000 - 7000K range will do nicely.
I use 6500K Daylight bulb for my red eye's home. Mostly to create day/night cycle and promote plant health.
I would really like to add a light for night viewing but I'm wondering if it's known what spectrum they cannot see as to not effect them negatively. I was thinking of a 6500K LED for day and whichever type for evening. Both on timers. Thx
