    Default Near disaster !!!

    OMG!

I keep a ceramic/heat bulb hanging above the enclosure during the winter.
The enclosure in on a table an about 12 inches from the ceiling.
Yesterday afternoon I was cleaning some areas of the glass. (while the frogs were all asleep)
I do little jobs at a time so I'm not in the enclosure for a long time.
I must have bumped the plant one of my frogs was sleeping on -- and woke her. ('Boggie Smalls'- my A. moreletii )
I had one door open, paper towels and a spray bottle in my hand at the time.
Without my knowing, she climbed out and was sitting on the top of the enclosure ready to take a leap onto the fixture w/the heat bulb.
I don't know what made me look up? She would have gotten so hurt, fried in fact. It's so hot!!

Thanks goodness I grabbed her just in time!!!

The only good thing about this ---- I had to touch her!! Hehehe
It was nice; I have never touched her before! So Cute

    Bahaha, your shirt?!

This kind of talk makes my apprreciate my clumbsy, fat... terrestrial amphibians...

Though I must say, give my chubbies something to climb on, and there all over it... looking at them, you'd never think they could climb, but what do ya know!

Royce never underestimate the determined terrestrial frog. My green Pac Loki will not hesitate to climb on the wood furniture in his enclosure. Funny though because their bellies get in the way Lol!

Haha, tell me about it, I swear I have "American Treetoads" because when there not sleeping, their climbing!!

That's why, in their new 210 gallon viv, I'm building them a 2ft tall Great Stuff climbing wall on all three sides, complete with drift wood, mushroom ledges and hanging plants... they'll be able to climb until their heart's content!

I put my chubby frog in my bathtub the other day for a photoshoot... and he climed vertically out the tub, it's like they have small sticky pads on the end of their long fingers... lol
