Hi,
I am new to this forum thing, so please bear with me.... About a year ago while at me lfs I found in a tank of 50 or so little (under 1") african clawed frogs, one that caught my eye. This little creature was missing both its front legs, giving it the face of a newt, and looking like a frog fishing lure. Adorable! Initially, it lived in a50 gallon tank with dwarf frogs and assorted fish, feeding well on frozen blood worms, and growing. When it got to the size that could become dangerous to the other inhabitants, it was moved to live with med/large goldfish. When it bit the eye off of a black moore, it got moved again to live with half dozen african knives. After re-working my fish room, adjusting populations, I have run out of room, and the poor thing now resides alone in a 10 gallon tank.
Last week, after a water change, "it" turned out to be a she.... I found hundreds of eggs! Currently, she is approximately 4 inches nose to butt. Although is have no front legs, she is healthy, fat and feeding well, although I have been unsucessful getting her is eat anything other than frozen bloodworms.
I joined this site, mostly to try to find a great home with an african frog keeper that would appreciate her and could give to her a better more fulfilling home than I am able to provide. Would anyone out there be interested in such a charming, delightful, unusal little creature?
Thank you
Rivkah
