Question Help with putting in a drainage layer?

I have an established vivarium with a juvenile White's in there. I did not put in a drainage layer. The enclosure is 18"x18"x24" (33g). I have plants rooted into the soil. The soil is very moist, and I need this layer. I will have to take everything out and start over. The problem is...will I have to replace the saturated soil (eco-earth) or will it be fine now that it will have a drainage layer? Thanks.
