My Male Pixie frog

Here is my pixie I got in August of this year. His growth rate is phenomenal and has quite the appetite. He is fed a variety of night crawlers, crickets, and the occasional fuzzy. He currently is held in a 40 breeder tank and has a 50/50 setup with a filter in the water side to attempt to keep the water clean. I've raised him since he was 1 inch or so in length and he just keeps growing. I regulate his temp with overhead bulbs...two 75 watt bulbs to keep the tank warm. I've had this current setup for over a month and he seems to love it. He is on YouTube under the username Bwise999 and his name is Kahn. Check this guy out, and any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you too all...I'm thinking about buying a bigger piece of half log for him to hide under. He seems to be outgrowing his current half log. He is one happy guy though....just saying

Yea I had to look up my receipts to find out exactly when I bought him. It was in late august so he is right at five months...I'm going to keep tracking his size month by month now to keep up with his growth rate from here on. Is yours a male and you have pics?

I think I got mine late september but it was already like 3" at that point. Everyone says its a male, havnt had total proof yet. But its definitely not 7". Mines posted further down on the page.

Yep, their growth rate is phenomenal. My male, Stilgar (http://www.frogforum.net/african-bul...ogress.htmlwas) was reaching 2 in. when bought early last November. Two months later he is passing 5 in. and dwarves his brother's and sisters that remain at pet shop.

Here are some updated pics that I took tonight of my pixie Kahn. He is right at 7inches and I have no idea how much he weighs...He is a big guy though. This is post dinner time, so he might look like a fatty. What do you guys think?

Hey thanks...I put in a plexi glass separation from the fiber to the water area. I sealed the plexi glass with aquarium safe silicone and let it dry 48hrs. Then added the contents of the tank etc. Pretty easy to do, but took a little time. Also I painted the outside of the aquarium flat black on 3 sides to give the from a safe looking enclosure. He loves it.
