Default Fire belly toad darker than usual

I have 2 FBTs and the female is the regular grass green and very bright. The possible male one is much darker green and I was wondering if that's normal. He is healthy, eats fine, the orange on his belly is bright so I can't figure out what it is. Could it be from being in the water too much? THey both soak ALL the time-I'd say the majority of the time. When he dries off, he lightens up, but is still dark. I've attached a good side-by-side pic of them to see the difference. Thanks!

These toads are semi-aquatic so him spending lots of time in the water is normal. Is the water dish the only water area in the tank? I know they like to swim a lot. As for the coloring I am not sure if that is normal or not.

Yep, the colors are normal. They can range from light green, to dark green, to brown and can change color slightly to blend into their environment. And they love to swim .
