I am new and trying to figure out the exact requirements for proper lighting for dumpy tree frogs. I have the exoterra rainforest setup which came with a compact fluorescent top. I am not sure if this is sufficient or if I need another type of light. It was my understanding that I need a light for the day which i assume this fluorescent one that came with the kit is for, and a red one for at night. I am just not sure how to set this tank up with lights. Do i need a completely different lighting fixture that can hold 2 different bulbs..done for day and one for night? I have the medium kit 18 x 18 x 24. Thanks for helping!
I have two day lights for during the day for heating purposes. Then I have one night light to keep it warm during the night, The light hood that it came with should be sufficient
Here are two good example of thread with the exact questions (and answers) that you are looking for, have a look at them!

(Short answer: The frogs themselves do not need any kind of special light at all, just a light source of some sort to create a day/night-cycle (for example a light on a timer).
