    Default Fungus on branches

    Hello

I am in the process of building a tank for my two whites tree frogs. They're currently in a 30x30x45cm but are getting a mansion - 90x45x90cm. I have a question and wonder if you all can help please!

I have put in a couple of branches from the pet shop for starters. The humidty is high owing to the fact that I have put in a waterfall and stream. THere is a green fungus growing on the branches. I attach picture of the fungus and a second picture which is a taster of how the tank is going.

I have the same type of branch in my existing smaller tank to which I had added springtails - no fungus in that tank.

Any ideas on whether the fungus is likely to be harmless?

    Thanks in advance.

    David

Did you boil and/or bake the wood (to get rid of fungi and other pests)? If not, you may want to do it. It might be harmless, but amphibians tend to be susceptible to environmental faults. What type of wood are the branches? I'd suggest you get rid of the fungus, just to be safe.

    Thanks Robin
I might have been a bit lazy with the disinfecting before starting building! I've boiled them and will see how they go.
Will post some pictures when it's done.
