Red eyed tree frog red leg?

Okay so my frog was Sleeping on the glass and I saw its belly was red, but he still eats and moves around? Does he have it?

Sadly no I don't , my computer doesn't like to cooperate! I know he is a wild frog so it might be natural coloring? But It looks redder and more around the frogs under side than ussual lol sorry I'm on my iPhone stupid auto correct !

My phone does the same thing. It's tough to say without a good photo. I load pictures up from my phone via Tapatalk.

iphone and bucket photo work well for pics!
You can take a pic with your iphone. If you do not have icloud update- email the pic to your self -drag the pic to your desk top- then upload it to bucket photo ( free set up and storage ). If you have the icloud ugrade all pics you take will be sent to a pic folder on your computer. From bucket photo you can easily copy the photos here to FrogForum.

I have never tried to copy a pic from iphone album - into a Frog Forum post ? wonder

Did you intend to post pics in the 2nd post post?

In the post - (logged in w/ my iphone) I see a cute cubby brown frog ( not a red eye ) in place of the smiley faces? I guess it's a photo attached to the smiley face?
Does anyone know if pics are attached to icons ??

For a Red eye - I'm sure you know -Sleeping on the glass in quite common.
I see such a very, very, very, very slight tinge of red? ( as best I can see from this photo ).It's hard.
Is it possible you have not noticed this before ----which could be the frogs normal coloring? .
Maybe the frog needs a shed? Offer additional ( VERY CLEAN ) soaking dishes filled w/ bottled spring water.

Keep your enclosure very clean. Fresh , clean soaking water is essential.
Other symptoms are laziness ( lethargy ) and your frog becoming inactive as compared to its normal activity, which does not seem to be occurring

If you get any other photos-- pass them along, and/or keep this tread active with other questions if need be.
I'm sure there will be more advice to follow.

Are there any other frogs in the enclosure with this one ? And , if so, how long have they been together?

I know that the coloring is new, he does sleep on the glass sometimes and I se his underside. He is the only frog in this enclosure.

Trying to determine if your frog has red led is very difficult.
It is believed that red leg is a “stress disease”.
Read over the Red Eyed Treed frog care sheet very carefully to make certain the enclosure is just right for Red Eye Tree Frogs. Correct anything ( if needed) with absolutely as little disturbance the frog as possible. Since he is alone there is no need to quarantine him. Moving him just causes more stress.

The “disease” is really a syndrome, Chase, (a bunch of symptoms). It is confusing because the “redness” on frogs legs does not actually have anything to do with it at all --as many frogs have a natural red hint of color there and would therefore may not be a sigh of illness. For example, One of my red eyes has always had a bit of a orange tinge on his lower belly. If I recall – this orange tinge appeared as the frog matured. The others do not have this all. Another does not have a pure white belly but has a more grayish color. This same frog has very little blue within his side stripes and inner thighs. These colors vary from frog to frog – just like their petty side strips vary.

The “redness” that happens is a result of broken blood vessels leading to a collection of blood under the skin. Therefore in frogs like ours ( Red Eyes) , it can be seen it because of the very light skin color in the belly and inner thigh. Experts are still not sure what (pathogen) causes this. They think that it is dormant in the frog and as opportunistic illness that is related to stress factor that causes a weakness in the frogs immune system.( ie : improper temperature and/or humidity, unclean tank, need water changes or substrate change, too much handling or disturbing the frog, lighting, improper diet, mixing certain species) This is why I suggest checking and reviewing every detail within and around the enclosure –and correct any possible stress factor . If I were suspicious of this in one of my 6 frogs, I would firstly move quickly into a prevention mode. I am not a vet. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no cure for “Red Leg”. Just because you see some redness does not mean has it.

Hopefully , other will post to help us understand this better.
Maybe try to get more pis -without disturbing him !

That's wonderful! Some times Stickers belly looks a very light pink if she squooshes her belly on the front glass. But when she hops off, she's a nice white .
