Hi All.. new here. Looking for advice on treating my horned frogs toes. She has two slightly abrasions on the equivalent of thumbs on her rear feet. They come and go and we have been treating with an idone solution. The vet is unsure as they have no experience with frogs. She's in a large terrarium with 2 heat matts on two walls, both on thermostat. Temp variation approx 19 to 27c. Humidity usually about 60-70 %. Suprisingly she's not a big feeder but eats balanced diet of bugs and pinkies with alternate supplements. She has a low UV. I'm thinking they could be abrasive injuries from burrowing so have made a few changes and tried different substrates with no luck. Any advice would be appreciated- it's definitely not red leg as it's never progressed. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Ronni
Please post a picture of the frog from underneath its belly and it's toes & views from an arial photo.
hey there... I been trying to upload a pic but it keeps saying invalid image...I emailed to myself and saved it as a small file but no luck.. any one help a silly scot?
What substrate are you using? I think Coco fiber would be safe for her feet when she burrows. I saw the pictures, she looks fine with no bottom abrasive looking feet. You can always use paper towels that need to changed often. Paper towels may be soft compared to what you may have used??
