Exclamation Crack in red eyed tree frog's skin?

I'm petsitting my roommate's tree frog while she's away this weekend. Her only instructions were to spray him a few times a day with a spray bottle, which I've been doing. However, this morning I noticed he has a small crack in his skin. I'm freaking out and can't seem to find anything that explains this on the internet. I called my vet, who referred me to another vet who deals with amphibians, and they basically told me keep spraying him and if it doesn't clear up by Monday to bring him in. They didn't seem too worried, but I am. He is currently sleeping and seems okay other than the crack.

    Advice please?

    Can you post a photo.
Are you sure it is not a very thin piece of moss or cocoa fiber stuck to him.
They have, sort of , sticy skin. I'ts best not to spay him directly , but use the spray to humidify his enclosure.
Do you know what is in the spray bottle?

I know that my Whites sometimes get some dried shed on them that looks pretty ominous. It might be that. If you do think it is a crack, you will want to get him in a clean environment to make sure that he doesn't get an infection.

I'm pretty sure it's an actual crack, but thank you both for the advice! I unfortunately don't have a camera at the moment but it is a small crack on his head. But this isn't anything particularly life-threatening, is it? I just want to make sure he'll be okay!

Well, like it's been said already, it's hard to actually say if it's dangerous or not without pictures I'm afraid. I hope he'll be ok!

Seems to me that it's shed skin, but if you honestly think it's a crack I would pick up some Neosporin in case you need to apply it to the wound. Keep the environment clean, water changes - you don't want bacterial buildup leading to an infection or some other bacterial disease getting into the open wound area. It's too early to say put the frog in a quarantine tank with wet paper towels, until it's diagnosed by a professional or displays symptoms... Yeah, you'll need to show us a clear picture of the area you're describing to pinpoint what is going on.

I can't really tell from the pic. If you truly see a wound go to a pharmacist and ask for neosporin without painkiller. Maybe he simply cut himself on something. Check the tank and remove anything that could have caused a wound. Fake plants have wires that run through them.
