    Default Safe woods?

I know from the information that I could find that you're not supposed to use pine and cedar in a frog enviroment, and that oak is kind of iffy. I just needed to know what woods are safe. I have a hybrid poplar and a few hickories in my yard, and my back yard if very wooded so I have woods like tulip poplars sweetgums and a sycamore. Can I use any of those? Thanks muches!

True pine is bad, but all fresh cut wood is also bad. Make sure your wood is down, and barkless. I like using 1/2 rotted wood, and taking all the mushy rot off with a rock or knife. I test the piece first to make sure core is solid. When rot is rubbed away remaining solid wood is multi colored. After it's scraped, I let it dry in the sun for a week or so. Any kind of driftwood is coincidered safe, and rotten wood(as explained above) has long leeched out toxins. But even a 10 year rotten pine stump will still smell like pine when it's cut.

I have no idea on the trees u named. Best to stick to hardwoods

That being said I'll probably go with the Hickory or a Maple. They have a bunch of dead braches that fall, but get caught on other branches and never really hit the ground so I'm sure there will be some cool stuff up there.

Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!

Ah yes! Thank you, the specific article is helpful! ^.^ That was actually my second question, how to do the boiling and baking of the wood, but now that's gotten covered.
