    Ok so your aquarium is 48in x 24in x 72in?

Digging deep in the brain recesses (and a quick google search for conversion from cu in to cu cm) the math should look something like this.

    48x24x72=82944 cubic inches
    1 cu in=16.387 cu cm
    82944 cu in x 16.387 cu cm=1359203.33 cu cm
    1 cu cm=0.001L
    1389203.33 cu cm x 0.001 L=1359.20 L
    1 L = 0.264 gal (liq)
    1359.20 L x 0.264 gal=approx 359 gal (liq)

    Someone please verify that math.

(And yeah, I know there's probably an easier way to do this but the last time I did this many conversions was sophomore physics)

The rule of thumb I go by for space is 10 gallons per frog. I would say you have more than enough room

As for plant help--in a tank that huge, I'd start w/ a "lemon-lime" Dracaena deremensis (I love the way these guys look), some ground cover type ferns (check Josh's Frogs for that), a couple of pothos, some broms or cryptanthus. And I'm out of plant suggestions--lots of the others have way more tank building experience so they should be able to give you much better plant advice.

Your math is correct. That's a nice big tank .

I'm still learning about the plants. Will wait to see what others suggest.

With that size tank you are not limited on types of plants. Go to the Lowes Indoor plant section and start looking for some tall big leafed plants. I certainly hope the tank opens from the front or it would be impossible to setup. Is is a glass terrarium? What type of background are you going to do? I can't even imagine how many Great Stuff cans that would take.

Yes, I agree. Pictures would be great. Especially for a tank that big. Where ever did you find such a huge tank? How fun!

231 cubic inches = 1 US gallon, but don't let that stop your conversion bonanza

The tank is a little small if you are planning on living in it with your 4 gray treefrogs, otherwise it's awesome for the frogs alone. I'd go with plants that get big, snake plants (Sansevieria), rubber trees (Ficus), grown up draecenas, Swiss cheese plant (Monstera). A staghorn fern would be pretty cool too, they can get massive leaves and could be grown directly on a bark background (I've never had one though due to the huge size). I usually aim to save money by buying younger plants and waiting for them to grow, but with the amount of space you have I'd probably get a few big ones at the start, especially for slower growing stuff.

A big jade gets like a mini tree with just a pile of branches filling up a vertical space that's wonderful for a treefrog, but they like lots of light so that could be a problem.

See, I knew there had to be but I couldn't remember it. I knew I could get from cu in to cu cm and from there to mL/L and then it's a hop skip and a jump to gallons. I like the long scenic route.

Nah, if I was brilliant I'd have jumped from cu in to gal w/o the stops in between.

Grey Treefrogs, Hyla versicolor, don't get that big (nor do the similar Cope's).

I'm not sure what that is, but it doesn't look like a Grey treefrog to me the nose is too pointy but it's hard to tell from the pic.

For some plant ideas, heres my WTF tank. Bottom left- Epipremnum aureum (golden pothos- nearly indestructable), tall plant to the left- Zamioculas zamiifolia (nice tall plants with big sturdy leaves, they are bulbs tho so you dont want to over-water them), Top right- Ficus pumila (creeping fig - keep soil moist) Bottom right- Syngonium sp. (arrow head plant). They are all in a 18x18x24 exoterra with 2 24W daylight (6500k) CFL bulbs.

Looks like it could be a cuban tree frog. Froggymatt can you post more pictures?

    H. versicolor and H. chrysoscelis at max are 2".

I would also recommend way, way more plants. You've got a ton of space and it needs to be pretty bushy.

That would be my guess, especially if it's 5".

And froggymatt- about the other two pics you have in your albums Picture 1 of 3 from diggem and Picture 2 of 3 from diggem it might just be me, but unless otherwise stated people will tend to believe that you are claiming these are your photos. Unless you are Cathy Keifer (Baby Grey Tree Frog On Vine Photo | SpiderPic Royalty Free Stock Photos) AND Mark Moffatt (National Geographic Events - Army Ants & Flying Frogs), this just isn't the case. I'm assuming it's just an oversight on your part, but you might want to explicitly give credit and make sure you have the rights to distribute and use these photos on the web like you've done here. Just my unrequested 2 cents.

sorry about that..i will correct.it was a oversight on my part. the darker one is mine though....i came to find out at my vet that theese are indeed osteopilus septentrionalis...or cuban tree frogs. just a lot larger than the ones he's seen lately. largest measures in at 5 inches with the other 5 at about 4 3/4 inches.
