Do females make any noise at all? When i am feeding my frog makes a popping sound. Its almost croak like but i didnt think females make sound. He/ she very excited during feeding and always makes this sound. Anyone have the same thing happen?
Females do make sounds "yes" but its nothing like a males "croak". I dont think it would be a male off the discription of the noise you stated.
A males ""croak" sort of sounds like a cow dieing...lol.
EDIT: post some pics thats the best way of knowing what sex you have thats if its sexable.
They don't really vocalize but they are capable of making minor noises like you've described. It's definitely not the bellow of a male frog.

Yeah, like John and Deejay said, female frogs do make minor noises. It sort of sounds like a squeak. I had two female Wood frogs together in a tank once and one grabbed on to the other (as a male would grab on to female to mate). They obviously weren’t’ trying to mate, but –as I came to learn—that female was trying to dominate over the other female; it was a territorial thing. Surprisingly, female Wood frogs are territorial, while the males aren't! Anyways, the female that was being attacked released several high pitched squeaks, nothing of which sounded like a male.
