I was watching Man VS Wild the Scotland one and he said that sphagnum moss contains iodine is this true? is this safe for frogies? or is he just being stupid again?
Couldn't tell you.
Bog plants tend to be sinks for any nutrients available (bogs are nutrient poor areas). So that would be most salts available and I suppose that would include salts of iodine. I think it's a bit of a stretch to think there's much in there though. And yes it's safe for the frogs, as long as they don't eat it and become impacted.

Thanks i just am sometimes a little paranoid about my little friends. In man vs wild he uses it like a water purifier saying that the iodine will remove any nasty parasites and bugs.

Hmm ok thanks John another wrong comment from bear grylls. The last one was when he called a ceacilian a reptile in Patagonia
He's not known for his accuracy. When you watch that show you need to remember that you're watching it for entertainment value - that's how they make it.

Is he the guy that has that lame show ultimate survivor? Not a fav amongst South African herp enthusiasts.
Yep, that's him.

Why do they dislike him Buck?
Mostly because the fool's entire "survival" is staged by a film crew. Oh, and he eats anything that moves for ratings...including just about every herp. Give me Les Stroud any day of the week.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!
The got into trouble before because some of the people were sleeping in hotels at night and going out to film during the day.
