    Default Mysterious Observation

About four years ago, I had a male Wood frog that I had captured from a pond near my house. One day, I observed something very peculiar coming out of the bottom of the frog. Instead of normal feces, there was a clear, small bubble that was either full of fluid or air (it was hard to tell). As if that wasn’t weird enough, there were these tiny white “things” in the bubble, jumping rapidly around; they closely resembled worms. This mysterious bubble lingered outside of my frog for about 5 minutes and then gradually went back in. Afterwards, I never saw it again.

Does anyone have a clue as to what this weird bubble was? The first thing that came to mind was some kind of parasite or nematode. I tried doing some research, but couldn’t ever find anything.

Strange. It'll be interesting to see if anyone truly knows the answer.

Wild guess but it might have been a gut prolapse, and the worms might have been intestinal worms.

I had another Wood frog that had prolapse once; however the color of the guts, or cloacae, was pink and reddish in color. There was also a hole at the top of the cloacae.
The bubble was completely different from the prolapsed I observed, so it is interesting that you say this. Are there different forms of prolapse in which other insides come out of the frog’s body? Could the bubble I observed be the lining of the frog’s intestines?
