Hey guys after our chat yesterday, i thought, iye bugger it i want these little guys and i want to do it right. i managed to find a second hand ten gallon this morning on gum tree, went down and picked it up.
i have set up, taken pictures (watch this space i'll try and get them up, as i'm not exactly a computer wizz...
i'll give you a quick brief of the tank so you know what i've done and if ive done it right.
water used was conditioned tap water
land was built up using large washed pebbles filled in with gravel.
the land area is around 1/3 to 2/3 water.
i then covered the gravel land area with spagumn moss (oh yeah do i change this about once a week)
bog wood has been used to create a small 'island on the other side of the tank
plants have been added fake, plus an exo terra hide (for time being as i had it lying about, again washed)
need to pick up a fake background now as i forgot to pick this up earlier
any advice help more than welcome
again thanks for being honest, i know now they will be happy in their new home once i get them
tony
Look forward to seeing a picture. Also, just remember to have a lid that "LOCKS" in place. Frogs are amazing escape artists.
oh yeah forgot to mention its a closed lid model, it did have small holes at the back for wires, now that filter and light are in place these have been plugged
That's good...so often people try to tape it up or put something heavy on top to hold it down and they almost always find a way out. Where's your picture? Come on.. we love pictures here.
wow that was easy lol
anyway here it is please ignore the unsightly wire trailing around the back of the tank, this will look a lot nicer when i have placed a background on it.
hope its ok
I'm guessing it's a home for fire bellies?
I don't know much about them, but I like the terrarium. Looks cozy
there we go added a background now, looks a lot nicer
Looks nice how about some drift wood and Spanish moss
This looks nice, good job!
water tested, no chlorine so popped down to the reptile and aquarium shop by me and purchased these two little guys
Laurel and Hardy, they both seem very happy and have settled in, will keep you posted on their status
Nice terrarium
