as stated, amphibians have sensitive skin! I do, however, love toads for what they are
and have in the past gotten good toad-friendly...

what substrate are you using? do you know how old he is?
depending on what I've kept toads in, sometimes their feet can get quite filthy but it usually is absolved with them soaking :O
