Re: Opinions needed on medical issue

This was about the American Toad though that's why I was trying to comment on the specific animal.

Re: Opinions needed on medical issue

If you were doing what you said with American Toads you would have run into problems. They need more then just crickets and an occasional earthworm. I actually have gotten away from earthworms...

    Re: Keeping wood frogs

I was very disappointed that I couldn't keep them because I researched them for 6 years on captive care and had my chance but it just wasn't meant to be. They can be good captives but they would need...

Yes grubs will cause the same problem. I was going to keep them with my toads which normally would be acceptable but mine came from a valley where it's warmer then what wood frogs are used to. I...

    Re: Keeping wood frogs

The temperature can't reach 70 or it shortens their lifespan. They are very nervous but can be called down with a planted Viv. You need a larger one with UVB and they need smaller insects. No grubs...

Re: Opinions needed on medical issue

It actually is preferred for native species. It doesn't have any drawbacks. Should be a good investment

    Re: Frog sucks in sides

Feed Mazuri Better Bug Gutload. Feed feeder insects that and then after a day or two feed to frogs. Don't just use dusting. Use UVB light to help with getting vitamins.

Re: best place to buy feeder insects

Hello! Try Josh's Frogs they have great prices and are very easy to work with. They have a good reputation. Also try Carolina Biological they have a good rep also. Between those two you are set.

This is the problem everybody seems to think the calcium and supplement dusting is the best choice but really that doesn't help. It probably is MBD in an early stage. I would recommend getting...

  15. Re: How many crickets per american toadlet?

Honestly if you would just throw in a good amount and allow the Toads to eat for no more than 15 to 20 minutes whatever they don't eat takeout that would be the best way to feed them and the safest....

    Wanted/Trade: Re: Gray treefrog spawn

It might be easier to find your own. It would be illegal in some states to field collect these. If you must have some for a pet and they aren't from your area the pet trade might be the way to go.

  25. Re: Sweet/Genovese Basil, is it okay for American Toads?

This doesn't appear to effect amphibians negatively. Also crickets do not seem to be disoriented with basil.
