  1. Re: Normal Melanogaster Flies colonizing my Flightless Hydei Cultures

Hmm interesting, I've never heard of that! If you did get supplies to make them yourself, you could mix a smaller than recommended amount of media at a time since you don't need a ton of flies.

  2. Re: Normal Melanogaster Flies colonizing my Flightless Hydei Cultures

What kind of containers do you keep them in and what kind of ventilation is there? I've had melos breed with fully flighted fruitflies through the itty bitty vent holes before, definitely not a...

Re: Queries regarding whites tree frog.

Hmmm, I'm yet to see a male fly. I got my colony for free, but if I were choosing between the two, then I would have gone with dubias for the fear of flight alone! I wonder under what conditions the...

Re: Queries regarding whites tree frog.

I have never touched a roach- I lift the carton/papertowel rolls with tongs and shake it into a cup inside another container in case the cup gets knocked over or something. The first time I tried to...

Re: Queries regarding whites tree frog.

I think it was mentioned that turkestans establish and breed quicker. I've never had dubias, but I've read that they can jump a bit? Turkestans are really fast, but as long as you're careful about...

    Re: vertical storage for plants

This is definitely a great idea, it seems that the idea has been marketed with the same 'shoe storage' design, but made out of a plantier material. I've been considering getting one of these for a...

Re: Pixie Frog Sexing.. Did I get lied to?

I agree you should wait to leave a review until you know for sure the sex was misrepresented, but I think the condition he/she was in alone should warrant a negative review. I'm glad you now have the...

    Re: best feeder?

I, personally, use turkestans and can attest to them breeding like crazy! Which is great because I feed different sized nymphs to different animals and I always have more than enough around 1/8"....
  9. Re: Red Eyed Tree Frog got some strange spotted areas now

I found this thread that may be of some help. I would recommend bringing him to a vet soon. http://www.frogforum.net/showthread.php?t=10392

    Re: WTF possible broken leg

I recently had a frog injure a front leg (either dislocation or a break) and brought her in to a vet. They offered an x-ray, but didn't have monitoring equipment suitable for a frog to fix the issue...

Re: Keeping Dendrobates tinctorius in a group?

In my experience, there isn't really a right way to do it. The more space available the better, and keeping a close eye on them and looking for any aggression or signs of stress is very important....
