Re: Solitude....a new build from the chipmunk

Man that is awesome. I can't wait to one day do a build like this when I have room and kids that are older haha. One day....one day.
  2. Re: New to frogs and terrariums, first build, Exo Tera 18x18x18

Tonight when I get home I'll get a pic of the plant, it just shot out a new leaf so we'll have that for comparison too. It's my favorite plant and of course the only one doing bad....I do know the...

    Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I'm pretty good with plants. I come from doing planted aquariums.....much harder to do that these I think. I kinda just planted and am letting it do its thing here. ...
  4. New to frogs and terrariums, first build, Exo Tera 18x18x18

Some updates here. Frogs are doing great and getting bigger. My plants are all growing awesome. Just added some spider wood and my wandering Jew is already on it.

On to the pics. Got a real cool...

Re: P. bicolor Build, Lots of Questions :-)

I prefer Leca, it may be my fish keeping mentality, but it's super similar to the bio media in the filters. Lots of surface space for bacteria to grow on as just another layer bio filtering. And...

    Re: Terrarium cleaning staff

I find that they produce as fast as the amount of food/waste they are able to consume. In a fish tank, yeah they and MTS will reproduce insanely fast, but in a tank like there where you're not...

    Re: Terrarium cleaning staff

Hah, yeah that changes things and you're right, the nerites would be great for that if there is enough water. They like to leave the water often so that may pose a problem in a small basin.

    I'd...

    Re: Terrarium cleaning staff

Oto's are strictly algae though, won't touch any of the poop. MTS would be the only one I'd choose. If you don't add any food to the water they won't populate terribly. Nerites don't touch...
  10. Re: New to frogs and terrariums, first build, Exo Tera 18x18x18

Honestly, the background was super easy. It's the second iteration. I was going to do a water feature initially and had a corrugated plastic section for the pump. I decided to skip that though and...
  11. Re: New to frogs and terrariums, first build, Exo Tera 18x18x18

Thanks, appreciate it! The frogs weren't priced bad at Josh's Frogs actually. Compared to others these were cheap! Can't wait to see them get used to their new viv and get bolder.
  12. Re: New to frogs and terrariums, first build, Exo Tera 18x18x18

Tough crowd here huh, no responses. Guess the tank isn't great lol.

In any event, got the frogs yesterday! Below are pics of the new guys in their new tank. The larger one investigated and...

    Re: vivarium lighting help

I'm using the same top, actually two of those tops. In each housing I have 1 UVB100 in addition to 1 Reptile Vision bulb, both from Exo-terra. I really like the lighting colors, very natural. I've...
  14. New to frogs and terrariums, first build, Exo Tera 18x18x18

Hey all, what originally started as a new tank for my Anole turned into a dart frog terrarium now. This new tank will house a pair of Dendrobates tinctorius 'Azureus'. I'm curious for opinions,...
