Re: What can I put in here? 12x12x18 exoterra

I appreciate the clarification - looking up pictures they definitely seemed too large. (Someone also told me I could put a crested gecko in here...which is also not true! :( )

    I would *LOVE* to...

Re: What can I put in here? 12x12x18 exoterra

Thank you! I did end up removing most of the soil and am keeping about 1 inch (hopefully the plants dont mind!) I'm glad to hear I can put *some* sort of frog in here, because I was worried about it...
  3. Re: New Red Eye Set up - including water feature/pond

Oh how wonderful! I have been thinking about doing a waterfall setup for my 18x18x24. Did you have any guides or references for this when you started it? Love the form and flow of it too, by the way....

What can I put in here? 12x12x18 exoterra

Hey all! I re-set up my 12x12x18 exoterra recently, and am going to work on slowly filling it with plants and vines. However, i'd like the plants and the environment to reflect whatever creature I...
  5. Re: Concerned one of my Whites Tree Frogs isn’t eating

As someone who just had a very, very poor experience with a new frog being stressed out, I would just suggest to leave him be. When I took my frog to the vet, they emphasized that its more about...
  6. Re: Tiger-legged frog sick, possible bacterial infection. New Frog!

I am posing pictures of his face so folks can see the spots. This was well after he passed away.

I hate to say it...but I did handle him with bare hands after he passed away and,...
  7. Re: Tiger-legged frog sick, possible bacterial infection. New Frog!

    Alrighty...update time.

So, the heat/humidity index has been perfect for the last few days. 78-80 during the day, and 75 slowly going down to 72 degrees by morning. Humidity hovers around 50-60%...
  8. Re: Tiger-legged frog sick, possible bacterial infection. New Frog!

Ahh I see! I misread the information then. It was confusing because before I actually got a frog...I would go to josh's frogs to ogle at vivarium supplies and plants, so in my head they were a good...
  9. Re: Tiger-legged frog sick, possible bacterial infection. New Frog!

Its completely okay! I read a lot of care sheets (and though I hate blaming) this is the only one that mentioned a water type, so I followed their...
  10. Re: Tiger-legged frog sick, possible bacterial infection. New Frog!

So I took my frog to the vet today and got a few pieces of advice:

Likely he is still acclimating, and is also dehydrated due to the fact that I was putting distilled water in his bowl. Ack!

  11. Tiger-legged frog sick, possible bacterial infection. New Frog!

Hi all. I started another thread a few days ago http://www.frogforum.net/showthread.php/38354-Tiger-legged-monkey-Frog-acclimation-process <---- where I thought my frog was just acclimating and was...
  12. Re: Tiger-legged monkey Frog - acclimation process

Alrighty...bad news. No crickets went missing last night.

I read online that they feel safer if you put a towel over the cage, so I ended up doing that last night for two reasons 1.) to make him...

Re: Just found a massive centipede in my tank

Where did you get your substrate and did you use any non-sterilized live plants? Anything that's not cultivated for terrarium use will have more than just centipedes to worry about. Fungus, bacteria...
  14. What type of blue light product do you recommend?

Hi all! I am looking for something easy/affordable to view my nocturnal frogs for a little while at night.

    I came across this product:...
  15. Re: Tiger-legged monkey Frog - acclimation process

I am hopeful! The tank is now closer to 78 with the second heater, which is great. I'm glad the darker color doesnt necessarily mean he is sick.

I've been wary of releasing the crickets into the...
  16. Re: Tiger-legged monkey Frog - acclimation process

Thanks for the reply! I thought I responded to this yesterday but it seems to not have posted. I appreciate all the help! I found this recently...
  17. Tiger-legged monkey Frog - acclimation process

    Hello all!

I am thoroughly excited and pumped to have purchased my first frog, a Tiger-legged monkey frog (Pithecopus hypochondrialis), a few days ago. I had a planted vivarium for about 6 months...
