8105581055Third Pixie frog. Let’s hope this one is a male Any name suggestions would be much appreciated
I have two ABFs both won’t eat and both keep burrowing under the substrate. I dig them up every weekend to see if they’ll eat, and this last time I waited almost 3 weeks. It’s been well over a month,...
It’s going to be very hard, if not impossible to determine if the frog is male at 2 cm. You maybe able to tell from visual signs around 10cm. Look at kingsnake.com they usually have pixies if you...
It was said before above, but I would like to say it again. It is very important to change the water more frequently. Every day is optimal. Your frog is most likely going to defecate and urinate in...
I have a male and female pixie. The male is about 7 months younger and both frogs are the same size, the female might be a little rounder and heavier. I’ve recently acquired an 85 gal tank and...
I feed in the enclosure with tongs to insure that nothing is left behind. I’ve tried to use a separate container for feeding but it seems to scare the frog and they don’t eat. I mostly feed in the...
So my dubia look like they are recovering nicely. I looked through there bins last night and found only fast moving healthy roaches. I estimate I lost about 10% maybe a little more and mostly adults...

Yes all sizes, and it’s happening in both bins, mostly to the adults though. It’s weird because this colony was exploding with life before I tampered with it. Temps are in the low 80s and humidity is...
I know this is a the frog forum, but I’ve noticed that many of you have Dubia colonies. Recently I’ve cleaned out my bin and replaced all the egg crates. Also split my adults up into a breeder bin....

It’s never a good idea to feed thing from outside. They could give your frog disease or parasites not to mention they might be toxic.
I feed primary dubia and crickets with the occasional earthworm for a treat. Dust the crickets and roaches with vitamins. Not sure about earthworms, I’ve never dusted them. I feed with tongs one at a...
Hahaha, must not have been able to read much than. This frog is way too young. Come back in 4-6 months or when the frog is 4-6 inches. Sorry but there is almost no way of telling until the little guy...
I say go for it. Pixie frogs are super easy, as far as frogs go. Just remember they grow rapidly and will need a sizable enclosure and lots of food. All in all I would say they are a good beginner...
Hello, IÂ’ve had this Marine toad for a few months now, she was pretty good sized from the beginning albeit underfed and skinny. After several months of dubia, crickets, super worms and earthworms...
I’ve had this beautiful frog for about 5 months. Just wondering if s/he was old enough to determine gender. Thanks.
I dust everytime I feed my Pacman crickets, dubia or super worms. I also feed earthworms and feeder fish (undusted). She is fat and happy and I’ve never had any issues.
So I’ve been researching dart frogs, more specifically Phyllobates terribilis and come to find out there not poisonous in captivity. It is actually there diets that make them poisonous. My question...
Yes they are eating machines. I would try to feed as often as possible. I’m not sure you can over feed an ABF. I could be wrong about that. I always feed my ABF until he stops, and than I try to...
I moved the thermometer and hygrometer around the enclosure to different locations and it maintains the necessary specifications. I change the substrate once a week. I heat the enclosure with a...
Nice frog!!! PURELY A GUESS. MALE!!!!!! Hahaha I have one of a similar age. There doesn’t seem to be any accurate way to judge sex until they grow up. I hear 4 or 5 inches and the gender will really...
Yeah he’ll croak or not when s/he is ready. I’m not to worried about him croaking. It’s more of the question of how much time in the water is too much. I am no longer heating the water dish however...
